Iron is shaped through a combination of heat and hammers. As guys, the heat of life can open our hearts to being shaped, but it often takes a good whack upside the head to actually begin being shaped.
Iron Man is a group of guys who want to grow to become better men, better husbands, better dads, better leaders, better servants - better Jesus-men. There's no secret hand shake, personal counseling or holding hands around a campfire. Sure, we might hug when we greet each other, but only with one arm and a good pat on the back...like real men.
When we get together we talk about how God is messing with our hearts and lives toward becoming stronger men of God - we look at men in the Bible - we discuss books on manhood - we pray for one another (when we're comfortable doing that outloud) - we eat together - we drink beverages of sudsy nature - we throw bean bags - we toss darts - we bowl - we play cards - we shoot firearms - we go camping - we have bonfires...
In general, we share life with one another in such a way that we are being shaped by one another to look and to live more like Jesus everyday - and we're enjoying the ride with some good friends.
